Umbrella company Carnival Corporation will launch four new cruise ships in 2020 across its global cruise brands.

• Iona for P&O Cruises UK
• Enchanted Princess for Princess Cruises
• Mardi Gras for Carnival Cruise Line
• Costa Firenze for Italian brand Costa Cruises

Iona marks the first new ship for P&O Cruises since the introduction of Britannia in 2015.

Norwegian Cruise Line has updated its website to indicate the convenience charge for room service orders has increased to $9.95 per order.

The previous convenience charge was at $7.95.

Carnival Australia will donate A$350,000 to the Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund in an effort to help the efforts related to brushfire relief.

The money comes as a gesture from five of Carnival's cruise brands that sail in Australia: P&O Cruises Australia, Princess Cruises, Carnival Cruise Line, Cunard and Holland America Line.

Royal Caribbean's Majesty of the Seas will begin regular sailings from her new homeport of New Orleans in less than a week.

The Big Easy will be Majesty's home as she offers 7-night adventures to the Western Caribbean, Bahamas and Perfect Day at CocoCay.

New Orleans is home to other cruise ships, including the NCL Getaway, Carnival Valor, and Carnival Glory.

Carnival Cruise Line has updated its dress code to ban clothing that has offensive language.

Carnival brand ambassador John Heald posted on Facebook an update to the new policy, that specifies the type of clothing no longer allowed onboard.

Carnival Cruise Line revealed the "Heroes Tribute Bar" on the Carnival Panorama ship, which salutes members of the military and their families.

The venue features a distinctive All-American décor with logos of the five armed service branches of the U.S. military as well as patriotic and military memorabilia throughout the room. The venue’s walls are lined with photos and messages centering on three main themes:  Welcome Home, Thank You for Your Service and America’s Heroes.

Eric Duane Newman, 55, pleaded guilty on Thursday to murdering his girlfriend while on the Carnival Elation.

Newman and Tamara Tucker, were on the Carnival Elation in January 2018 on a cruise that left Jacksonville to the Bahamas, when Newman tried to strangle Tucker and pushed her over the balcony of their 13th floor cabin, the Department of Justice said in a statement Thursday. Tucker hit the 11th deck after the fall and died from blunt force trauma.

Newman pleaded guilty to one count of murder in the second degree in federal court in Kansas.

Carnival Cruises announced today its newest cruise ship, Carnival Mardi Gras, has suffered construction delays and as a result, will debut later than expected.  In addition, eight sailings have been cancelled.

The ship is under construction at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland, and will not be delivered until the end of October. The first revenue sailing will also now be departing Port Canaveral, Florida on November 14, 2020.

The Carnival Legend and Carnival Glory collided at the dock in Cozumel, Mexico leaving some noticeable damage to the ships.

The incident occurred as the Carnival Glory was attempting to dock in Cozumel, and guests sailing both ships shared photos on social media of the incident.
