While Celebrity doesn't operate the largest cruise ships at sea, they're committed to keeping their fleet as modern as possible. Regardless of the size, you will find an impressive number of restaurants, bars, cabin categories, and amenities compared to other fleets.
Whether you're seeking a ship that offers the best of what Celebrity has to offer or an intimate experience that's more focused on the destinations, you're sure to find the perfect ship for your next voyage.
Before diving into Celebrity's ships by size, it's important to talk about the different markets they operate in. The first is your traditional, mainstream line with sizeable vessels that operate around the globe. The second is comprised of just one Xpedition ship that sails exclusively to the Galapagos Islands.
That said, let's take a look at Celebrity's cruise ships from biggest to smallest! This was last updated in June 2025.
Celebrity Xcel Size

Celebrity's newest ship, Celebrity Xcel, is scheduled to enter service in November 2025. She'll retain many of the Edge Class favorites, while also receiving new upgrades.
The Bazaar, for example, is a new multi-level space that will host unique festivals, entertainment, and culinary offerings. It's meant to introduce passengers to experiences inspired by the ports on their itineraries.
Celebrity Ascent Size

Celebrity's newest ship at sea, Celebrity Ascent, entered service in November 2023. Though part of the award-winning Edge Class, Celebrity Ascent features brand-new and enhanced experiences, including a redesigned art gallery, expanded Martini Bar menu, and exclusive menu at Le Petit Chef.

The infamous Sunset Bar is also larger, giving guests more space to enjoy a handcrafted beverage while admiring the passing views. Passengers who book a lavish suite within The Retreat will enjoy a private sun deck that's approximately 40% larger than the version on Edge or Apex.

Today, the ship offers itineraries around the Caribbean and Europe, ranging from 4 to 14 nights. She's become a favorite in Southampton during the summer, giving guests an upscale way to explore the Norwegian Fjords and the Canary Islands.

At the time, Celebrity Solstice was the largest cruise ship to be built at a German shipyard; however, the title was lost to Disney Dream a few years later. It was also the only ship in the world to feature the Lawn Club, which had real grass at sea! Now, it's a staple on all Solstice Class ships.
However, Celebrity Solstice is the first ship to undergo a major renovation as part of Celebrity's Solstice Class revitalization. The $250 million project will bring new venues to these beloved ships, while also refreshing the staterooms and other public areas. 4 new cabin categories are also being added, as well as a brand-new sundeck for suite guests.
