MSC Cruises

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve (Ocean Cay) is MSC Cruises' private island in the Bahamas. Just 65 miles east of Miami, it is an idyllic secluded paradise and a frequent stop on many of the cruise line's Caribbean itineraries.  

Launched last November, MSC Seascape is MSC Cruises’ newest cruise ship sailing the sunny waters of the Caribbean. 

It is nearly identical to its sister ship MSC Seashore, retaining many of the great benefits of the earlier Seaside class of ships. MSC Seascape is beautifully designed, with top-notch finishes and décor. The ship offers plenty for cruisers of all ages, with a number of entertainment, dining, and activity options onboard. 

I recently sailed on MSC Divina for the first time on a super cheap four-night cruise to the Bahamas. 

Being an older ship, I was able to get a fantastic deal, $185 per person, including w-fi and drinks. 

I spent almost $4,000 on an interior room in MSC’s Yacht Club with 24-hour butler and concierge service. 

Some of you may think that’s nuts - $4K for an inside cabin! But hold on for a minute before you dismiss the idea; it comes with some amazing perks. 

A suite with no balcony, does that even make sense? This was my initial question when I learned that MSC Cruises has inside cabins in their Yacht Club section. The European cruise line has developed a premium ship within a ship concept that they describe as an onboard sanctuary that provides an all-inclusive experience. And the interior cabin option has tons of unique benefits at a lower cost than a traditional suite. I was intrigued, to say the least. 

In recent years, MSC Cruises has begun to increase their presence in the North American cruising market. 

On March 29, they announced that sailings beginning in April 2025 onboard MSC World America, their newest mega ship, are now available for booking. This will be the cruise line's 23rd ship, as well as the second in their World Class. 

When she sets sail, MSC World America will be MSC's first LNG-powered cruise ship in North America! 

What’s not to love about visiting cruise line private islands in the Bahamas? Soft white sand, crystal blue waters, and incredible views. That's a yes, please, any day of the week for me.
